I think it behooves us all to recognize that much of the material we see in the press about the Middle East and what various parties may or may not do reflects propaganda and psychological warfare operations. Should all be taken with a few grains of salt IMHO.

The CIA has a long history of this kind of thing. Used to be known as "black propaganda" during the cold war days.
