especially women near menopause because it is supposed to reduce hot flashes, along with some types of yams

It is a great food. Eat it in moderation and I'm sure it would be fine. I love tofu, and several of the meatless products made of soy. So I'm a big fan. I think it probably is a good choice, from everything I've read. The only negative I've seen about it is the problem it may have for boys.
