Maybe I am cynical... but from the background provided by the media on Afghanistan it seems the people have a history of shifting from one tyrant to another as the winds shift directions. More of a "I don't like this" so let's get rid of it than a serious shift towards "freedom." -PT

Most thought that the Taliban was an ideal Islamic government. Note that many women still wear their burkas. Z, that's because they are not sure that the Taliban are gone for good. Because the Taliban are mostly gone, does not mean the Afghans feel safe. Many men shaved their goatees......others left them on again not because they like them but its a way of playing it both ways just in case. >>Once again, perhaps there should be a better term than "terrorism". >Once again, I think its very apt.
