Oh, THAT piece! I saw it too. Dowd's twisting of it for her own purposes was so distortional that I didn't even recognize it. Typical. If your head is a hammer, then all thoughts are nails. That is quite a twist because I don't remember it as saying or implying anything like Dowd's interpretation. The whole point seemed to be that these women thought they would have no problem having kids into their 40s and in fact the biological facts were quite different.
