LOL. This Chavez guy sounds like he'd fit right into American politics.

Maybe market knew Chavez was going out, so oil dropped in anticipation (market always tries to anticipate)?

That is what I thought I heard ie of the Chavez ouster effect on oil (along with some decline in tensions after the Iraq threat). Now that the markets were closed on the weekend, maybe you might see the 'surprise' effect come Monday?
