RE:I'm all for Al running again in 2004. Of course he is the best the Dems have to offer. too bad.

But good for the Republicans and Bush. Who else might run? Hillary, Tom Daschle? I'd like to Jesse Ventura run as an independent. That would liven up the debate some :-)

Where's the proof that he was a Journalist/Photographer in Vietnam?
I wouldn't include the "mommy told him to enlist" nonsense in your arguments, however, since NO
mother would've told their child to go, no matter what the stakes. Maybe Al Gore was preparing his
resume & planning a future political career(like daddy)...it's been none to happen:)

Have to give him credit however if he had no idea where he would be or for how long in Vietnam?
If he knew up front that it would be in the rear for a short period of time.....that was more than many
were willing to do at the time. That said, it would not, however, be reason enough for me to vote for him.

What a load of crap. AL Gore volunteered for infantry, Army. Not some busy post far from danger. His father didn't want him in the war but he volunteered out of conscience. And maybe some degree of building a resume too. Why not?

Nixon didn't want young Gore killed because his father was a rival and he didn't want the Gores to havepublic sympathy so he secretly placed protection nearby and kept Al out of battle. But Gore was no draft-dodger or shirker like Bush and Cheney (or Clinton).

What's that crap about going to Canada? Wherever you read that pile of BS you ought to be ashamed to repeat such an obvious lie. Besides, you seem to claim telepathic powers, reading their minds 35 years ago. What are you thinking?
The guy spent two yers in Nam and never complained. Give him a little credit.

Gore could have easily gotten a plum assignment like Bush in a state National Guard. And your suggestion he hung around bars and brothels is particularly odious. Bush was the one partying in those days. Gore smoked a little weed like most people but he was otherwise a straight arrow.

People, this is the typical kind of smear campaign lies which right-wingers spread. So what if it's not true? So what if there was no crime involved in Whitewater? So what if Gore never said he invented the internet? So what if Gore has no personal relationship with Occidental Petroleum's threat to rain forests? So what if Ken Lay never spent a night in the Clinton White House? It sounds good to them so they repeat it over and over and over until those less-informed figure it's true.

We have to listen to this crap, this old-style CIA type disinformation campaign and attempt at character asassination. I am not backing Gore in 2004 but I have to call a spade a spade here. You are an intentional liar, sir. Shame on you as an American.
