>What is this blood libel about? I think a Muslim friend tried to explain it to me something that sounded like this (with extremely poor English), but I didn't get it.

It was something that was invented during the Middle Ages throughout Europe. It stated that Jews stole Christian babies and used their blood in Matza. It's been expanded throughout the Arab world in the state newspapers to say that Jews use the blood of Muslim babies in Matza on Passover and the blood of Muslim men in Hamantaschen (a fruit-filled pastry) on Purim (a holiday in the late winter/early spring). Many of the Arabs believe such garbage. A Saudi Arabian paper actually wrote a retraction recently of such an article, "conceding" that this practice was ended in the year 1800.
