Ted,

Israel may have to close its borders with the WB. Pull back its settlers. Stop all interaction. No longer permit Palestinians from coming in as a labor source, and learn to do its grunt work on its own.

Do you think this will stop the terrorists? How about Hezbolah shooting rockets from Lebanon to Isreal? How is Israel going to stop these kinds of weapons from reaching West Bank and Gaza if they completely give up control?

This is not an argument. I am just asking questions.

I know what would work, I described it in my post to Albert: Message 17328494 which is how Germans kept peace in the occupied territories. It was clear to everyone that any act of violence committed against the Germans would be met with an act of violence 1000 times stronger by Germans, so very few people were stupid enough to try it. So outside of the situation with the Jews, German occupied territories were peaceful.

But we live in the media age, which prevents Israel from doing what works, which in turn prolongs the entire conflict. The half assed measures increase, rather than decrease the number of dead and wounded.

Joe

Ummm... as soon as the intifada started, Palestinians stopped coming over the border to work. Israel's adjusted just fine.

One problem with unilateral separation is that when Israel no longer meddles with the affairs in the West Bank, the Palestinian leadership can accumulate weapons even more easily than they can now, perhaps ones that will allow them to fire over a wall. What good will the wall do? I was an advocate of a wall, but then realized that one problem.

Tejek Re...You think that the Israelis use of force will do the trick. Well 99 to 1 it won't work. <<<<<<

What makes you think that Israel invading a few towns and refugee camps is anywhere near my idea of catacysmic. My bet is that we will see all out war sooner rather than later.
