You are certainly not reading the Arab press. When a "heroic martyr" dies, the whole community comes to congratulate the parents on the honor that the martyr brought to their family, and rare is the parent who doesn't say how proud they are of their martyr son, or how they wouldn't willingly send their remaining sons to the same glorious end. Family honor is tremendously important in the Arab world, and years of propaganda have made suicide-bombing the most honorable of activities. BTW, the death is reported in the papers as "the glorious wedding (to the 72 virgins) of so-and-so". I'm sure the $25,000 from Saddam Hussein, plus more money from Saudi Arabia and Chairman Arafat, doesn't hurt either.
