The really sad thing about bulldozing olive groves is that it takes maybe 10-20 years for olive trees to start producing, 35 years to reach full production, and they live 200 years.

Wonder if they at least paid the guy for the loss of his trees and his family's livelihood?

"I in no way support terrorism - but think that Israeli policies in creating and supporting settlements has spawned the Intafada" That pretty much sums it up for me as well. The spinning and spinning and spinning of positions on the issues becomes mind numbing as time goes on. Two wrongs don't make a right, but I cannot support the Israeli position on the issue of settlements and I think that is at the heart of the matter. Sharon has pursued a military solution at every step of his career. I do not see him as able to make peace. Much is made of Arafat's failure to denounce terrorism. It is also time for Sharon to denounce a "military solution" or else we must conclude that we have two guys who just can't stop fighting.
