Nietzsche used "inverted" in its value free sense, but with a twist. An inversion of true values is a reaction to, and therefore a part of, the process whereby existing values are transvalued and new values are made. Thus "thoughts that alight on dove's footsteps change the world." The bull market exhausted its motive force, and instead of promoting strong companies it promoted weak ones. The defense of the (dead) bull market becomes a mere apology of weak companies, an inversion of the values that sparked the bull market itself...
