I only know him as somebody who seeks a military solution to the issues. When was it ever different? There's a time for diplomacy, and a time for military action. Hitler was not stopped by diplomacy and non-military efforts, and cost the lives of over 50 million people before he was finally defeated. Unless the west gets a firm and powerful grasp on those extremists who would launch the mid-east on an insane Jihad, we could see something quite similar occurring within the next several years. Think of it... Putting a firm foot down and halting Hitler at Munich might have prevented the deaths of 50 million people... And we're all fussing over a few thousand lives on either side? Of course, some would venture to say that Hitler would have only bided his time until finally finding an opportunity to attack. But then again, he might have been "contained" much as we're trying to do with Saddam Hussein. We must actively oppose and seek the isolation and overthrow of any leader who would attempt to incite their populations to commit acts of terrorism against civilians. If they wish to take on our military, then fine... come forth and do battle. But if they choose to turn their civilian population into combatants, then they will become justifiable targets as well.. Just as civilians were justifiable targets during the bombing campaigns of WWII. If the Arab world wants total war, to include civilians, then it should be given to them.
