On Sprint conference call they are also congratulating SprintPCS on margin expansion as well as direct subscriber additions. So much for the saturation in wireless argument and price pressure on margins story.

They are also anticipating that 3g will offer relatively "sticky" services that will help to reduce churn.

On 1x launch they think some slowdown in new business scribers is due to pent-up demand for upcoming 1x launch.

Another question, with 1x, would you expect same upgrade to 1x handsets as was seen with WAP handsets? They said they expect to get as many 1x handsets put into place as they can as quickly as possible because it saves capacity. Anecdotal evidence on 1x postpone is that business customers are "excited" and they do think there is pent-up demand.

Question on Data ARPU: In 02 data ARPU modest, don't expect rapid jump, but by 03 expect significant effects. Still saying it is a small fraction of total ARPU. Question is whether that is up to $3.00? Answer is that expect "higher than $1.00"

Question on saturation: Answer is that people seem to be talking more than they thought possible. Approaching 570 minutes of use.

That's all folks. I missed some at the beginning and there was supposed to be more there on 3g launch dates. Anyone get that?

SPRINT PCS

.....Shares of Sprint jumped to $11.30 in after-hours trading from Monday's closing price of $10.02 on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares of Sprint PCS, which trade as a tracking stock of the parent company, have fallen about 58 percent in the past year.

``I'm very relieved by the numbers. It was a very clean quarter,'' J.P. Morgan analyst Thomas Lee said. ``I was very concerned, especially on the heels of what happened in the fourth quarter.''

The wireless industry has been battered over the last few months as mobile phone service providers' results fell short of expectations in the fourth quarter. The poor results came as sales slowed and the recession caught up with the industry, which had been growing at a frenetic pace until then.
