New devices - 14 new devices for 3G launch, as per PCS store reps. Second time I have heard the same number. Color screens, gps, cameras, PTT will be the leading features for Sprint's handsets.

I think the lack of announcement for 3G has been very deliberate. They don't want to spook potential customers from the store. The arrival of the LG 4E1 and Samsung A400 confirm the availability of high speed data, but still no color screens.

I think the PTT feature could be huge. I would never consider Direct Connect since it was on a third rate network. Given Sprint's lack of a family plan, this would be a great way to introduce cell phone to cell phone calling plans. I think VZ offers 250 minutes between family members. If PCS positions PTT for cell phone to cell phone usage for family members, it would give me a great reason to swap all my cell phones in with PCS for matching PTT phones.

Hear anything about timing of launch? Apart from not wanting to announce early and keep people out of the store.

- 20% of Q1 adds were 1x. Base is now over 1M.

Qualcomm just commented that the PCS and Verizon are keeping their 1x (voice-only) customer numbers secret....maybe you should e-mail your super-secret notes to IR <g>.
