Hydrogen cars could totally replace gasoline autos.
My research is out-dated but when I read about it years ago the big problem was making a hydrogen converter small enough to fit inside the hood of a car. I'm sure much progress has been made since then but now we really need to re-double our efforts, starting at the top. To Bush's credit he mentioned hydrogen cars for the first time today but he was talking as if they're 40 years away. Actually they could be 5-10 years away if he weren't in bed with Big Oil and Detroit. Squashing fuel efficiency bill was a disgrace. That's why John Kerry is the man now. He will solve our energy crisis the clean way and get us out of bed with OPEC. It was his bill and he is the only one (along with McCain and Lieberman) who can stop Bush-Cheney and their greedy polluting dinosaur crowd from taking us to the cleaners once again.

Boy would Cheney love his 1700 new power plants before he retires. Even if we don't need them. Wants to make them all coal, oil and nuclear. Turn our skies into what they've got in Houston. What does he care about pollution? He lives in Wyoming on a gentleman's ranch with his own trout stream.

Honda has introduced a new Civic hybrid car with a combo 85cc gas engine augmented with an electric motor. Get 48 mph but who cares we need gas guzzling SUV's.
