With a corrupted banking system...

FWIW, the oil magnates (and banksters and energy moguls) are so tightly wound with the U.S. Gov, they could easily deceive everyone regarding their problems. They could sustain heavy losses, and lie and report strong gains and no one could ever prove otherwise. Oh wait! That already transpired in the case of Enron! Heh!

I live only to see the day this house of cards collapses to the basement level. Perhaps it will culminate in a lengthy worldwide depression, major world wars, and a complete reorganization of the world order. Who knows? History teaches us that no democracy or system of gov lasts forever.

Personally, I think the serious, impending threat of new, very cheap energy (cold fusion) has the powerbrokers and middle men rattled to the core. The cat is out of the bag and "they" are running scared.

So... Color me paranoid. :-)

IMO, the normal weakening effect of printing could well be offset by repatriation from the US. Something is causing the money supply to soar there....I doubt they really want to pursue devaluation: exports are not a huge part of their economy after all and it would arouse the ire of too many...
