<...the attempts to dispose of the dead in mass graves.>>>

Have you ever been to the Middle East? Do you have an idea how hot it gets there? What would you do with all these dead bodies without refrigeration or means to preserve them?

<<<This is Nazi-like behavior...>>> - Jumper to conclusions.

Just browsing. Here is a thought
If it is felt that someone needs to become a suicide bomber to resolve their conflict then here is a solution to civilian deaths. Find an area, like a gravel quarry, and designate it as a Holy site for suicide bombings. It could be surrounded by shrines that celebrate the sacrifices made by the would be martyrs. Bombers from either side could meet there and blow each other up. The site could be blessed as a gathering place for those willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for what they believe in. That would remove the problem from the streets where innocent lives are lost. Just a thought.

If Sharon thinks his retaliation was legal and justified, why the secrecy and cover-ups?

Because they know that the press coverage will be very, very bad. The reporters will cover what they see -- rubble and civilians telling of their suffering. The militiamen are no longer around to remind them of the battle (the civilians won't mention it), and the suicide bombing campaign which goaded Israel into this action, is yesterday's news and won't be mentioned. And that's just how the fair-minded reporters will cover it. The Israel-bashers will have a field day.

Still, it's probably a mistake.

This is Nazi-like behavior and as a Jew, I would think you would be even more upset than I am????

No. This is not Nazi-like behavior. This is war in an urban setting against an enemy that hides behind civilians. It is a very nasty business at best. I don't see that the Israelis had a lot of choice. The PA, which they themselves founded and armed, has turned into a terrorist statelet leading the attack against them. Surrender to this terror would lead to more, much more, of the same. The killing of civilians upsets me, but surrender to suicide bombers would upset me more. If I learn that the Israelis killed civilians without military necessity, I will be upset about that. I don't know that yet.

If Israeli methods were truly Nazi-like, they would have made the whole country Arab-free some time ago. Certainly, they have the means.
