<<Long ago and in another life I use to do some technical climbing and in every climb you come to what is called the crux move, when you either make that move and go up or you have to turn around.

What kind of climbing and what part of country....I am in southeast, but we have climbed all over the world.....My wife is one of the best female climbers in the U.S......she could make a solid six figures a year with endorsements, as she is a great climber, and she looks good....blonde, great looking and in awesome shape....she takes and incredible climbing picture.....But, she doesnt want to have to f*^K with the indoor competitions ( even though we built our own indoor climbing gym on our property...very, very nice with lots of awesome features )and all the other crap that is associated with "climbing professionally"....she only wants to climb for herself........anyway, where do you hail from and what kind of climbing were you in to ? We do everything from top roping ( if we have beginners with us ), but mainly bolted sport routes and trad routes....warm up on the 9's and 10's and then go hard at the 11 - 12d's.......as for the "crux" move you mentioned.....we never heard of turning back at the crux <ggg>.....it's always go for it with us.....you miss, you take a moderate to hard whipper and pray you placed good gear, you hit it, you become a better climber....but no such thing as turning around at the crux with us <ggg>....heck, I'd rather go for it and miss, then to have to downclimb....downclimbing is not much fun on a tough 11 or 12 <ggg>.....Do you still climb?

Have a great day.....
