It is silly to expect science to make us better people. That's not what science is for.

That seems very nearly self evident to me. I think it is pretty generally accepted that while science provides us with admirable tools that have many uses, it will not by itself give us the ability to choose the best uses for those tools.

Does anybody here think that science can, or should, make us better people?
