Mr. Coyne, To me there is America the land of the free and the third world. The third world has no concept of individual freedom. It is unique to America. Now I don't think that PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH's actions will be productive in the context of Israel and the Palistinians, except as exposing how useless arafart is. But this course will be productive in reducing other dangers to America by maintaining support or a refrain from opposition to American common sense actions from other areas of the world.

I'm amazed at how creatively PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH reaches out and tries to find fair just solutions.

Yes, I agree, the president does not want to alienate the Arab states and it is understandable. But it wouldn't be necesarry if the Arab states didn't promote a hatred of Jews. As an example, the Saudi government run newspaper recently published a story that quoted a Saudi University professor who explained the Jewish practice of killing a nonjew and using the dead person's blood to make passover matzo. I mean, what is that! I don't think there is a single arab nation that is a democracy. And the Arab countries don't tell their people that the majority of Israelis want peace and are willing to negotiate land and give up settlements to achieve that end, but nooo, they want to run all the Jews out of Israel, as they have out of their own countries already.

Well said Mr. Coyne. A simple, easy to understand message that coincides with our earlier message on terrorism. Good post.

Controlling human energy was the byword before the USA. Freedom is our culture....

You would think that's the goal.

The reason there is so much disconnect between what is said and done is that this isn't the goal, at all.

The goal is control of oil wealth.

Once seen in that light, and terrorism as simply an emotional lever to be used to corral support and justify military force, it becomes clearer.

Bush Junior can support or not support initiatives against terror, as easily as he signed death warrants in Texas... he does exactly as he's told.

There is negotiation going on behind the scenes with Senior, Cheney and the boys, we're just seeing public statements that are purely for show. They make no difference, in any real sense.

The "coherent case for all civilized nations to actively oppose terrorism" makes all kinds of sense, both internationally and domestically.
That's not what this administration is about, imo.

I wish it was, but I see nothing coherent, except steadily increasing central gov't power w. Bush crowd in the driver's seat.

I'd be happy to change views if this admin were to lessen its support of terrorism, reduce ME oil dependency, and make public the public's business.
