Hmmm... my old friend qveauriche, I don't really get your point here (but, then, I have already enjoyed two bottles of Valdepeña's best so what do I know), what 1x you might refer to? Surely (shurely) it can not be the same 1x RTT that gets the miserable 144 kbs in a lab? As comparison to 172 kbs of GPRS in a lab?

Aaaand the small point of two nationwide carriers in the States rolling out the EDGE. EDGE, as anyone in thread knows (with the notable exception of engineer), has triple the speed of the GPRS.
