On the other hand, what have the Arabs offered? The Arabs have offered Israel full recognition, peace, and secure borders, in exchange for recognition of the West Bank and Gaza as the Palestinian state (essentially UN 242). This offer has been on the table for 3 decades. It still is. Tom Thomas, You continue to persist in the big lie. The arabs -- Jordan Egypt, and Syria -- turned down that offer in 1967 and the Egyptians refused to take Gaza back in 1979. Most recently, the Pals turned it down at the last round of Taba Talks. Tom, the UN Resolutions 242 and 338 do not call for a full and complete withdrawal to the 1967 lines which is being propounded from the Arab states. It also doesnt call for Israel to vacate Jerusalem, which is also what is being "offered" by the Arabs. Simply, they are trying to win back what they lost in 1967 thru terror. It aint gonna happen, and W isnt going to push the issue. What we are seeing in my opinion, is all for show, as the War on Terror will soon engulf the entire Middle East. Saddam wil not allow Arafat to tone down the intensity as it is disrupting the US attack; that is the goal.
