Excuse you, I made that post to Sojourner, not to you. Message 17333394 I said the Biblical claim is meaningless. Sojourner says it is meaningful. Remember in this post where you told me "can't you read"? Right back atcha! ;-) Message 17338135 Notice how you question me but not him, even though you agree with my point of view and disagree with his. Obviously, you're getting emotional. Maybe you should lay off the personal attack on me (since you earlier claimed not to want to be part of personal attacks), and just stick to the facts. Tom

A bunch of guys showed up in 1948, kicked some ass, caused a whole lot of trouble and as a result built a pretty decent place The great majority of the Jews in the Yishuv during the War of 1948 had been there since the mid-thirties at least, which is when the British began severely restricting Jewish immigration. During this period there were tens of thousands of Jews who tried to run the British blockade but were caught and put into DP camps on Cyprus. The Jews from the DP camps in Cyprus and Europe and the Jews from the Arab lands coudn't "show up" until the Jews in Palestine were done "kicking ass" and had a country.
