On the -isms ... a while ago a very articulate friend was speaking of a part of México, he said something like this [but much better, he didn't have to get back to work right away] -

You don't get to free enterprise by starting with a base of the majority of national resources held by a tiny fraction who have accumulated at gunpoint over the ages .... enshrine property rights at that point, and you legitimise theft, proving Proudhon right in this circumstance .... if you want to get there - and you should - you get there by means of evolutionary step by step process of education and acclimatisation to the principles involved, otherwise you get bloody revolution that never ends, just has deceptively peaceful ceasefire periods, quite meaningless

[edit] [and the best line] - 'you find no freer enterprise than that naturally occurring between campesinos'
