Eagle hunters have struck again in Louisiana. The most recent case involves a
bald eagle found shot and wounded near the Atchafalaya Basin.
The bird, handed over to Lafayette wildlife veterinarians, was the
second bald eagle found shot in south Louisiana in three weeks.
Penalties for deliberately harming a threatened species include
jail time and up to $50,000 in fines.
