Wise words... Personally I believe the only right the Israelis have to a homeland is by virtue of their being willing to fight and defend it.

If the Palestinians are willing to engage in the same kind of fight, facing utter eradication as a penalty for losing, then I could respect their right to a homeland as well.

It really has nothing to do with who was there 2,000 years ago, since were that the case, we'd have to give the entire Mediterrean region, and Europe back to Italy because the Romans once ruled the region.

When it comes to homelands and independent states, might makes right. They exist because they are willing to fight and die for the right to exist.
