It's not a question of should the Palestinians be allowed to 'establish' a homeland. It's a question of Israel giving their land back and removing the population of the settlements

THEIR land? Where are their deeds and titles?

Shouldn't the Israelis give the land back the Jordanians? Or to the Ottomans??

How about giving the entire region back to the Turks since they ruled it for 400 years??

Should we give the the US back to the Indians?

Should the Indians move back across the Bering Strait and give the continent back to God(nature)??

Think about the implications of what you're asking for...

The entire region is "artificially bordered" as a result of arbitrary decisions and wars of conquest by the Arab tribes...

Should the Saudis give the Arabian peninsula back to the Hashemites?

Should the Hashemites give back Jordan to the Palestinians, and Jews, to whom the British originally promised it?

The Palestinians have never owned anything that didn't belong to some other ruling authority. And the only reason the Israelis own anything is because they have fought and died in 3 different wars to defend was was either purchased by them, or obtained by the exit of the British.
