When I was about 23 and didn't realize it was a crime, in order to stop my checking account from imploding under a bounced check I would cash a check at Sears where I had a credit card and they would do that, then walk down the stree and deposit the money. At that time it took several days for checks to clear even in-town. I just thought it was a smart thing to do until I got my paycheck a few days later, and had no intention of cheating anyone. So don't you see--these guys are just innocent youths who don't know what they were doing. <g>
