I'm no engineer, but hydrogen converters produce fuel from water. Some electricity would probably be needed. But that's a lot less consumption than burning gas. Our scientists could figure it out if they were given the strong support they need.

Even oil-man Bush admitted yesterday it was the way of the future, perhaps our only viable way. At the rate we're burning gas it will be gone someday anyway. So why not look ahead, be smart and start conbverting our economy now, using the kinds of tax incentives Bush is wrong-headedly giving to the oil business now. Wrong-headed but payback for all their soft money.
