By the way I think INTC is a great company and am heavily vested in same but they have been very short sighted in their lack of support of MSFT in this matter. I believe that one of their ex execs took the stand vs, MSFT and portrayed MSFT as a bully. Now tell me who pushes INTC around? JFD

Nope. Hammer 3400 is planned to be 35% faster than Athlon XP 2800+ in "normalized performance" according to AMD's past presentations.

Whether or not AMD can pull it off, is something else.

But their presentations show Hammer 3400 as more than a third faster than Athlon XP 2800.
