Look more like California Brown Pelicans to me -- you know ... large, endangered species...

With a little stretch of imagination, they could be wild turkeys. We have plenty of them in Western New Jersey. They can fly a little. They can get a couple of feet in the air but come right back to ground.
The most interesting thing is that they will follow through the woods in single file in long lines of up to 20-30 members of flock. Sorto like everyone going long when Laryy signals up channel.
