Good up-gap today on TRMS on the news from Roche.<g> " Final Phase III tests showed T-20 significantly reduced the amount of virus in the the blood in resistant patients, when used in combination with existing therapies. Roche is developing the drug -- the first in a new class of products known as fusion inhibitors -- with U.S. biotechnology group Trimeris Inc (NasdaqNM:TRMS - news). ``These results are even better than the positive results of earlier studies had led us to expect,'' said William Burns, Roche's head of pharmaceuticals. The latest clinical data examined the effects of T-20, which must be given by injection, for 24 weeks on 491 patients who had shown resistance to each of the three classes of currently available antiretrovirals. The positive data will form the basis of a dossier which Roche and Trimeris plan to submit to regulatory authorities in order to win marketing approval. Trimeris will co-market the product in North America, while Roche will market it elsewhere. T-20 has fast track designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the companies hope to secure regulatory approval by early next year. siliconinvestor.com It may get to test the November 2000 H at 80.<g> siliconinvestor.com But I think I will wait to see if it will close some of today's up-gap.
