More companies are entering into the storage business, which means less dough for each of them. That might be another factor contributing to SAN companies' weakness - not so much the overall demand, but their SHARE of it.

Not only that but SUPPLY (cost per megabyte) continues it's historic pace. It's still all about supply and demand.

The last time I figured it, this "DiskSpace Law" far outpaced Moore's Law which basically says supply from technical advances doubles chips every 18 months. Thus, for profits: demand + product advances > Moore's Law (2x supply). It's the same case for fiber. The capacity advances for awhile increased supply by 16 per year, 10 TIMES MOORE'S LAW!

All tech bulls talk about demand for technology but never mentions supply. Technology is about greatly increasing supply (and obsoleting your current product).

Folks that think storage is a good LTBH need to look at it's history and technology.
