Dhellman, Re: Thread:buy a put or sell a call?

If you believe in Hammer (but also a dismal Q2) sell a July '02 call ($15 strike). After expiration there's still enough time for a possible Hammer runup in the stock price (if Hammer arrives on time in Q4). If you don't believe in Hammer (SOI risks, clock-speed, infrastructure etc.) sell the stock and go short. That's probably what I will do today (except that I've already sold my stock a few weeks ago). Today's paper launch and Jerry's behavior points to serious short- and mid-term problems for AMD. Not to speak of the continuing declining ASPs that will only get worse after the next Intel price cut at the end of May.

Dave- Buy puts. I bought a few AMDVB puts ($10, 10/02) this morning, paid $0.80/contract. But I'm holding on to my stock, at least for a while. I'm a droid after all.
