Very interesting on the internal "Refuse 2 Lose" campaign at AWE. Shades of "Cubs are Alive in '75! (when the Chicago Cubs finished in 6th place.)

"refuse 2 Lose" is an utterly obvious reference to the 1995 "Refuse to Lose" Mariners (Randy Johnson, Jeff Nelson, Norm Charlton, Jim Mecir, and nobody much else in the bullpen, Ken Griffey Jr., Jay Buhner, and Darren Bragg in the OF; Edgar Martinez at DH, Tino Martinez, Joey Cora, Luis Sojo, and Mike Blower in the infield, and finally Dan Wilson catching).

The 1995 Refuse to Lose Mariners team was storied and inspirational.

Still, it is truly ironic that you would adopt a campaign mimicking a team that inevitably did lose the ALCS to the Yankees. AWE: our goal is to try to stop the inevitable.
