Remember right after the attacks, we were asked by our government for ideas on how to fight terrorism? That shows that the guys in power didn't have much of a plan to fight terrorism before getting into power, now doesn't it? It didn't exactly give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about how well our government will do in this "war".

Oh, I think they took the rights steps. Moreover, I like a government that solicits input from its citizens. Beats a "know it all," in my book.
