I was really delighted for her. No one deserves it more than she does.

I recall the remarkable amount of heat she took on several occasions when she verified, then printed some of the nasty revelations that Hickey, Tice, Fleck, and yours truly sent her way (IBM's accounting legerdemain, Micron's sordid public reporting, the MSFT employee option scam, the widespread sale of put options against their own stock by many tech companies, etc.). And she did it with style as well as grit.

Back a couple of years ago, few journalists would touch the sordid accounting and crappy reporting issues that currently fill the papers, but she did, even when she knew there would inevitably be gut-wrenching follow-on bills to be paid. Then as now, she gets my highest accolade...."a class lady". Nice to have a "Gretch" around to show the CNBS crowd of twits for what they are..... mindless, spineless cheerleaders.

Best, Earlie

To All, a good piece in the Wall Street Urinal today, C section, on "Gimme Credit." I've always liked that rags spunk in taking on balance sheets. I didn't realize they charged $18,000 a year for a subscription. Whoa, doggies!

BTW, my fantasies would have preferred that pictures not be printed. <g>
