Carter and Clinton both slowed the growth of big gov while reagan nixon the bushes stepped it up. the only dem that did a bad job in this area was LBJ. The facts are clear in spite of effective pr to the contrary the repugs are the party of big government. Look at bush. He campaigned on letting local gov decide things yet try to fight a pipeline that ferc wants. Try to control local schools when the gov wants mandated testing that controls the ciriculum. It goes on and on.And btw the size of our military budget had no effect on preventing 9/11.
