If NEM and GOLD close here, they'll be at 52 week highs.

Mike,

I got a pretty dire picture of life in NYC last night from an investment banker friend who lives there. Lots of his acquaintances have been, and are being, laid off, and many are leaving the city for good. He claims that the panhandlers and squeegee guys are back, and that criminals are somewhat emboldened by Guiliani being gone, and the fact that many cops have retired since 9/11. He is actively looking for a house in suburban NJ - I never thought that I would hear him say this...

Is this depiction accurate?
