I can assure you that my dentist doesn't know what old technology means. There are problems with niche software being able to keep up with the OS a year money making scheme of MS.

XP can and does crash and MS is patching like crazy to stop it. Have you read through some of the recent spate of critical updates? I found NT to be highly reliable on the machines I ran it on. W2K less reliable and XP about like 2K. I agree these operating systems are light years ahead of W9x variants including ME, which was garbage. OTOH Linux was completely stable about 8 years ago.
