Charles, I remember the Huntsville site. In fact, Ken Follett wrote a novel called "Countdown to Zero," and the focus of the launch was set in Huntsville.

It is amazing how we let the govt. spend and waste money. Don't get me wrong. I think we should explore space. But building a second site when the first is still functional makes no sense. Oh, well, that's probably why we didn't get the super collider. <g>

<<Pres. Johnson moved the responsibility to Houston>>,yea, its a shame he didn't have the same commitment to get our @$$e$ out of VietNam (instead of listening to Mac & the brass). I was there when he gave his "I shall not run" speech, and thought to myself, jeez, maybe I should have followed some of my bud's up to Earlie's land!!
OK, rant over<G>
