Why is it that Canada ends up in seemingly every British war? Treaty? Your manumission papers?

Can't be the usual sort of mutual defense treaty since Britain declared war on Germany first in both WW1 and WW2 and Canada was in.

I don't want to get into this zipper business. The thought hurts.
