I don't think JS was dodging anything...He repeated several times that AMD's profitability is a direct function of revenues...Above $900m, AMD makes a profit, below they don't...Flash looks like an enormous swing factor in this equation and JS seemed to like the chances of some flash recovery in q2...JS did proffer an $820m to $900m revenue range for q2, though, which probably accounts for the AH weakness...

Jerry's refusal to answer questions on margin and profitability, and outlook will hurt.

They gave an estimate of revenues, estimate of costs, so they answered the question as well as they could, given the fact that this was Q1 CC, not Q2. How can Jerry possibly know the answer, other than give you his best estimate?
