Malkiel's analyses in the last ten years have not been very helpful, but he was dead on in the early 1980s when he insisted that stocks were terribly undervalued, and not bad when he suggested shifting big profits in stocks into treasury bonds paying 12% some years later.

I read [edit: another article mentioning him in the WSJ's stock-picking vs. darts contest] in my home-delivered paper version an hour ago. Somehow I thought there were more darts thrown than that.
