Windsock:

You need severe reading comprehension skill improvements. A few posts ago there was quoted a system comprised of not yet available McKinley CPUs arranged in a cluster. The post claimed that this was a powerful supercomputer system. You did not take to task that one so, I believe you are being either incredibly selective about what constitutes a "system" or you just do not like to admit that there are N-way Athlon systems where N>>2. Even Power4 clusters was allowed by you to be called a "system" and they just do the clustering at a board level.

FYI there are many MP systems of which UMA SMP is a subclass. All of the top 500 supercomputers are of the NUMA class of which is disjoint to the SMP subclass. SMP just is not scalable very well. NUMA scales much better and is capable of far higher ultimate performance. So NUMA is just as much a "system" as any SMP one. You just do not like it that Athlon is sold as such. Well, TOO BAD!!!!
