Dear JLA: I agree with your comments. To it I would add I kind of wish he wouldnt have buckled under pressure to send Powell over to the Middle East, I would have PREFERRED he take the case to the UN and get the UN to issue some kind of proclomation INSISTING on the very things Bush would like to see happen. Then under a UN mandate, such as we had in the Gulf War, we go as a group, even if in fact the US supplied most of the material and manpower. That way can say US alone supports Israel or anyone else. We got a UN might as well use it, otherwise not of much value. JDN

Thanks for the good post, I agree with some of it, the steel tariffs were a bad idea. I have been more pleased with recent actions, seeming to be more rational and moderate and less drum beating. However, the economic, environmental, defense, foreign and energy policies are extremely disappointing to me, especially the fiscal irresponsibility. What is CFR? As opposed to a response to your note, I wish they would have engagaed in the ME thing sooner
