Pravin- I think you were lucky. Personally, I can't understand why anyone would mess with shorts when you can do similar things with puts. I think the market is strongly overreacting to an OK report from AMD. If AMD was up, the put is still a nice insurance policy if you are long, particularly if you bought a put with a lengthy expiration.

I bought AMDVB for 0.8 and sold at 1.1 this morning. Made some money (not much because it was a small trade and fees are high), but took very little risk.

Pravin, just got home, had a look at the stock price and covered my short for a nice profit. That was one of the best overnight AMD trades I ever made -- somewhat ironical that it was on the short side. Right now I'll stay on the sidelines and see how the Thoroughbred ramp will "progress" before I jump back in. But it's good to see that the majority(?) of the thread saw today's development in advance and profited nicely. So much for reverse psychology... ;-)
