I understood what he was saying about these programs that look to be seemingly innocuous and working to smooth things out and seem to be working to our benefit being especially dangerous. They resolve problems in a small time frame with little or no regard for the longer term implications, whereas a live trader is always bounded by fear and the fear is a necessary component to making rational decisions when it comes to investing in stocks. Without that bounding you can incrementally travel in a direction that takes you too far from the normal cycle and that sets up the situation for a seismic event in order to correct that aberration. Machines are dangerous beasts in the marketplace. Listen! And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead!
