It was a teaser. Jerry hinted at architectural enhancements for Athlon to make it faster. I expect to see several tweaks to Barton -- in addition to the larger L2.

As for lower power with T-bred, as far as I am concerned, that remains to be seen. The 45 amp power supply requirement, and the high Vdd yield high power. Again, I must assume that they are having a severe leakage problem at 0.13u. Much worse than Intel's.

From the context, it sounds more like information on TBred, not Hammer.

Probably power consumption. I guess it's possible they re-worked some stuff that didn't require much in the way of extra transistors, but I have my doubts.
