The question of our interest in the matter is complex. Suffice it to say that Israel has been the most pro- US country in the region, and supplied valuable intelligence to the United States, by all accounts. Additionally, the United States has felt a moral obligation for having underestimated the Nazi threat, and turned away numerous refugees in the run up to World War II. But I doubt I can make a convincing argument to you, so I think I will not exert to much energy on this right now.......
